HELP Needed for Operation Care Packages! Operation Care Packages is a volunteer non-profit group that sends care packages and letter of encouragement to our deployed troops through out the world. They need drawstring bags that they fill with plastic ziplock gallon bags that are in turn filled with hygiene items for the troops. The soldiers use the drawstring bags to hold their personal items and sometimes they give the bags to the children in the area they are deployed. As a charity project, this one can’t be beat! The bags are fast and fun to make, only take 3/8 yd of fabric and are guaranteed to make you feel good since thy are for such a good cause! Check out www.operationcarepackages.org and click

You can drop your completed bags off at Stitches Etc Home Center so that we can mail them to Operation Care Packages, or you can mail them directly (see their web page). It’s always nice to write up a note of encouragement to our troops, too, that you can include inside the bags! Operation Care Packages is also in need of many other items for donation, too! |
